Officers from the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to Hidden Hamlet Court in reference to a fight in progress Dec. 12 Upon arrival, officers met with a woman who claims she was assaulted by her boyfriend after she accused him of owing her money.
The woman said her boyfriend, after stating he owed her nothing, began walking out the back steps of the house when he slipped and fell.
She stated he then got up and grabbed her around the neck and began choking her and punched her in the mouth.
The woman claims the man then grabbed a weed eater and tried to hit her with it, then ran away.
The woman then said the man returned and kicked the rear door in and began “mocking” her, then ran away again.
The victim did not appear to be injured and officers said she complained of no injuries.
The victim claims to have been dating the man “on and off for about two months,” and when asked if she wanted to press any charges she said “no.”

Other incidents being investigated by the BCSO include:
•A theft on Red Oak Way. A woman said someone broke into her Jeep and stole a power tool, that she had bought for a Christmas Present. The woman stated the vehicle was normally left unlocked and that it was always parked in her driveway. No other items were found missing.
•On Rose Wood Drive, a man reported he heard multiple gunshots coming from a neighbor’s residence. Officers were unable to make contact with anyone at the suspected residents, but neighbors said the residents shoot recreationally often.
•Harrasing phone calls on Briarwood Road. A woman said an ex-boyfriend continued to make phone calls to her after she asked him not to. Later the man was seen driving by her residence and the woman became concerned.
•A suspicious vehicle on Greeson Road. A man reported a van had stopped in the road and met with another vechicle on several different occasions.
•A suspicious person on Highway 324. A woman said someone was knocking on the rear door to her home and tried several times to turn the handle. Officers discovered no one on the scene and no damage to the door.
•Damage to property on Lull Water Court. A woman said that during a search warrant executed by the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office, a safe in her office was damaged and now would not open. Upon inspection no damage was found.
•A complaint on Danielle Drive. A woman said she and her husband heard five gunshots behind their home. The woman claims the shots sounded as if they had been fired from a rifle. Officers were unable to locate anyone after patrolling the area around the home, and left the scene.
•A damage to property on Cedar Creek Drive. A man reported someone damaged his vacant mobile home.
The man claims that after checking his property he noticed several small holes in the side of the trailer. The holes appeared to be from a BB gun, but no one was found in the nearby area.
•Entering an auto on Vera Court. A woman reported someone took her purse from her vehicle. The woman claims she left her purse in her vehicle overnight and it was unlocked. No damage was found to the vehicle.
•A theft was reported on Angel Street. A woman said someone stole $846 from her. The woman claimed she hid the money inside a dryer on a neighbor’s property. When she went to retrieve the money, it was missing. The woman claims she hid the money from thelandlord.
•A theft by taking on Lokeys Ridge Road. A woman reported someone stole outgoing mail from her mailbox at her residence. The woman claims four separate checks were in the mail and that she had already phoned the bank and cancelled them.
•A suspicious person on Carl Bethlehem Road. A man claims another man knocked on his door and when he answered it, walked inside with a roll of wrapping paper and began making a sales pitch. After being turned down the man was hesitant to leave.
•Identity fraud on North Broad Street. A man reported someone stole his name and possibly his Social Security number, in order to get an account with the power company. The man claims the power company in Florida has harassed him in order to retrieve money owed, however, he claims to never have lived at that residence the account was billed to.
•A burglary on East Midland Road. A man said his home was broken into. He claims his flat-screen television was stolen, along with a computer monitor and a DVD player. Damage was found near the lock on the front door and the man claims it was caused by the suspects. Other rooms were searched and nothing else appeared to be missing.
•A theft by taking on Cotton Creek Lane. A woman said that the “neighborhood watch” signs were missing from her street. She claims she would not know of anyone who would want to take the signs.
• A criminal trespass on Hillshop Road. A man said someone broke into his property and cut bolts off of his storage units he rents out. The man claims he is in the process of contacting the customer’s whose storage locks have been cut. Although several locks had been cut off, nothing appeared to be missing from the storage containers that were searched.
•A theft by taking on Thornbrook Ridge. A woman reported that several gold necklaces were stolen from her jewelry box. The woman claims that no other jewelry was taken from the box, only the necklaces.
•Criminal trespass on Holsenbeck School Road. A man claims someone has been cutting wood from his red-oak tree stump. A tree had recently been cut down on his property and there has been ongoing dispute between the man and another party. Woodchips were discovered around the stump, and photos were taken for evidence
•Theft by taking on Wellington Drive. A woman reported that two Christmas wreaths were stolen from neighborhood signs. The woman claims that the wreaths were bought by the Homeowners Association and that she did not know the value.
•A theft by taking on Harrison Mill Road. A man claims his son’s wallet was stolen from his home, and that it contained over $400 in cash. The juvenile son claims the wallet did not contain any forms of identification and was used for storing cash only.
•Harassing phone calls on Punkin Junction Road. A woman alleged an ex- boyfriend has continued to make harassing phone calls, e-mails, and send text after she has ordered him to stop. The woman claims the man has sent threatening messages and has even come to her residence knocking on the window. The woman requested information for a temporary restraining order.
