CLERK OF SUPERIOR COURT
Regina Brock McIntyre has a long history with the Clerk’s office as her mother began working there when she was two.
McIntyre worked for seven years as the chief deputy clerk and now works in the accounting department for Barrow County.
She said all records should be current in the office not behind those in Jackson and Walton counties.
“I’m in this race because I love the office,” McIntyre said.
Lois Riner Bernius has worked in the Superior Court’s office for 25 years and is currently the chief deputy clerk.
Bernius said she attends all jury trials and has received extensive training while in the office.
“The clerk’s office belongs to the people,” she said. “I will have the office cross-trained in all areas.”
CHIEF MAGISTRATE
Incumbent June Davis is facing challenger Monica Durden in the July 15 primary.
Davis is seeking her third term as chief magistrate and said she has served Barrow County for 28 years having previously worked for the Winder Police Department for two decades.
Durden said she was a native of Barrow County and that she was “ready to serve.”
“It is in my heart to serve the community and citizens,” Durden said.
The challenger said she has 16 years of legal experience which would benefit her in the position.
