The Braselton Visitors Bureau Authority is seeking bids for its proposed “Pecan Tree Park,” to be located in a traffic roundabout on Grand Hickory Drive, off Ga. Hwy. 211.
The park — located behind the Mulberry Walk Shopping Center and in front of the Mulberry Park subdivision — will include new lighting, landscaping and a decorative iron fence, according to the request for bids.
It will also surround a large pecan tree, which was once named the largest in Georgia.
Sealed bids for the project will be accepted until 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 18, and read aloud at 2:10 p.m., at the Braselton Town Hall.
Following evaluation, the Braselton Visitors Bureau Authority will award the contract to the lowest, responsive and responsible bidder. The project is being funded by sales tax revenue from Gwinnett County.
