Officers from the Winder Police Department responded to a harassment call Dec. 9 on Georgia Avenue.
Officers were asked to meet with a woman who claims her ex-boyfriend has violated a temporary protection order by e-mailing her with threatening messages. The victim claims that her ex has violated the protection order several other times. The victim was able to produce an e-mail for officers to read which included multiple harassments and threats made toward the victim’s friend.
According to paperwork given by the victim, the subject is not allowed to make contact, directly or indirectly with her.
A warrant has been put out for the subject.
Other incidents under investigation by the Winder Police Department include:
•A theft on Village Court. A man said that he was taking his computer to be fixed at a local store and left it on the hood of his vehicle while he went inside to get another part. After driving down the road, he realized he didn’t put the tower inside the car. He claims nothing fell from the roof and he saw no debris in the roadway.
•Stolen property on West May Street. A man reported his car dealer tag was stolen from his vehicle. He said he drove to the gas station and when he returned he could not locate the tag.
•Damage to property on Bower Court. A woman reported her door was damaged while in the parking lot of a store. She claims when she went inside the door was fine. Officers found damage to the woman’s van on the front quarter panel that was hindering the door from opening.
•A criminal trespass on Laverne Court. A woman said someone tried to break into her vehicle while it was in her driveway. Upon inspection officers found chipped paint and small dents that suggest someone tried to pry open the door.
•A theft by taking on Mineral Springs Road. A man reported several items were taken from the back of his vehicle. He claims the items were to be auctioned off. Among the stolen items were new and used DVDs, toys and cookies.
•A harassment on West Candler Street. A woman said that her cousin was harassing her at the laundry mat. She claims she has had problems with her cousin in the past, and when she saw her they got into an argument over past events. The woman claims after shouting at her, her cousin left the scene.
•A burglary on Patrick Mill Road. A man said several items, including a .22 caliber rifle, were stolen from a house he owns. The man said the house is vacant, but he stores several things there. Upon inspection officers noticed a couple window screens had been pried off and it appeared those were entry points for the subjects. An inventory was taken of the missing items.
•Damage to vehicle on East 5th Avenue. A woman said her cab was damaged. Upon inspection there appeared to be damage to the driver mirror housing but the cause and time of the damage could not be determined.
