Let me tell you something that really grinds my gears. Every time I turn on the television there is an ad or commercial for a new cell phone.
Now I understand the need for marketing, and I also understand the millions of dollars that are put into it, but when the channels are dominated by a niche market it bothers me. I’m sorry.
Now if you the reader would take a look back on the entire cell phone industry you would see for yourself that this place of never-ending technology and marketing evolution was pretty much inevitable.
Back when I was growing up, you were not in the cool crowd unless you had a pager. Now I know that for many readers pagers were not even in the mix when the concept of cool still sounded important, but bear with me.
Anyway, pagers were the thing. The entire design of a pager was simple. You get a page, you find a payphone (good luck doing that second part today) and you call the number back. Years later, cell phones became not only for the rich guys on Wallstreet driving up in a limo shouting into that giant gray device, but for everyone.
