An Auburn Police Department officer was traveling down Hwy. 8 Nov. 29 when he received a call from another officer stating that a red Ford truck was heading his direction and that he had been clocked doing 61 mph in a 45 mph zone.
The APD officer immediately let the Ford pass and turned on his lights to make a traffic stop.
Upon contact with the driver the officer noticed a strong presence of alcohol on the drivers breath, along with slurred speech and bloodshot eyes.
The driver, Samuel Cordos, was asked to step out of the vehicle, and asked to be given a field sobriety tests to which he consented.
After failing the initial tests Cordos began getting angry with the arresting officer.
Cordos began asking the point of the tests and said the officer was “harassing” him.
Cordos stated that all he wanted to do was go home and that he was not going to do anymore tests.
At that time the officer placed him under arrest and asked him if he would consent to a Breathalyzer test, to which Cordos refused. He was then transported to jail and his Ford truck was towed.
Other arrests made by the Auburn Police Department include:
