Last week the Barrow Journal asked readers if they thought Facebook was helping or killing modern romance.
An overwhelming majority agreed it was not for the best.
A total of 75% decided Facebook was killing modern romance, while only 25% thought it was actually helping. The group whose social life is most affected by Facebook is the teen and young adults.
Seventeen magazine ran a poll of 10,000 teens ranging from 16-21 years of age. The poll suggested what many already knew. Of the entire selected poll group, 79% said that after meeting someone new they would send a “friend” request on Facebook within one week. After making a new friend 60% said they would regularly “stalk” the new friends profile page.
A new poll question is listed each week at www.barrowjournal. com.
