The Barrow County Airport has been a point of controversy for several years. Under the idea that the facility would become an economic engine, the county several years ago began buying up land in an apparent bid to grow the airport for commercial use.
That was a misguided idea and led to a massive citizens’ backlash in the 2008 elections. Now the pendulum has moved in a different direction as the management of the airport acts more like the Three Stooges than a professional organization.
Time to end Frank's folly

I agree 100% with this editorial. The chairman is an embarrassment to the airport and every Barrow County citizen. ENOUGH! Now lets see if the commissioners will do the right thing. Commissioners, please put a stop to the controversy at the airport and not vote Mr. Nocera in as airport chairman. Change is needed in 2011!

Remember he is Danny's hand picked man. Danny ran on the airport issue. That is why he was voted into office. Now he has turned his back on the same issue he ran against. The voter WILL REMEMBER. If I was to say ... I don't think Danny will get rid of him.

Let's keep this airport commission. This group of misfits is funnier than Jerry Springer's guests, and has about the same level of morals and intelligence.

Are the airport commissioners appointed for 2 or 4 years? If it's for 2 years, then the whole bunch is up for reappointment in January. 2 years ago, Commissioners Parks and Hendrix voted against Mr. Nocero's appointment, apparently with good reason. I can't help but believe that those two would be joined by Berry and Worley this time around. Of course, Danny Boy can always count on Eva the Elder to support him, and Curly Joe to support him, but it takes at least 3 votes and I don't think he'll get them this time around.

why is Auburn blowing so much money, that tree, fireworks every year, a new festival every month, all that unnecessary bullcrap downtown (fancy lightpoles, etc.) and the nutty mayor wanted millions in grant money to further beautify downtown, public works building- they already got one - how much do they do, do they need. FIX your roads instead. Mayor has screwed up priorities

You have definitly hit the nail on the head with Nocera,and I believe all the commissioners will do the right thing and vote him out; Even Mrs Elder. This man Nocera is EVIL
