Barrow County Sheriff’s deputies assisted Walton and Monroe authorities in apprehending a man who claimed he only intended to commit fraud - not “anything violent ” – after he and his accomplice fled in an attempt to avoid capture.
After being advised that Monroe Police and Walton County deputies were pursuing armed suspects on Hwy. 11, Barrow County deputies converged on the area.
A Walton County deputy notified pursuing officers that one of the suspects had thrown a gun, ammo and a few clips out of the car on Hwy. 11 near Hwy. 316.
