Statham Police are currently investigating a Friday night armed robbery at the Railroad Street Piggly Wiggly.
Store employee Tessa Trotter said two employees were mopping when a masked gunman entered the store shortly after 9 p.m. on Oct. 15. The gunman approached one of the employees from behind and demanded money.
Trotter said the employee went to the cash drawer, but had difficulty opening it because she was so frightened. Before the employee could open the drawer, the gunman cocked his weapon and pointed it at the woman, Trotter said.

Not to dispute your comment about the economy its true but i think that this county is growing real fast and is becoming more like gwinnett and will be in the future like atlanta and along with this progress means more people and its sad to say more crime.
