A 19-year-old Winder man had a hard time understanding why he was being arrested after a Winder Police officer discovered marijuana and a beer in his possession.
Cory Joseph Taylor, 19, of 27 Alexander Street, was walking on Broad Street when an officer noticed the teen had a bottle in a brown paper bag. Knowing that Taylor was under the age of 21, the officer stopped to investigate.
The bottle, which turned out to be a Colt 45 22 oz. beer, was open. An alco-sensor test showed that Taylor had been drinking. After initially lying about his age, Taylor was taken into custody. During a post arrest search of Taylor’s clothing, the officer found a marijuana grinder and a pipe containing marijuana residue inside Taylor’s pocket.
Taylor reportedly admitted being drunk, but said the officer should leave him alone because he “only smokes a little weed and drinks some beer.”
Taylor further made his case for leniency by explaining that the only problem with marijuana was that it was illegal.
Taylor was transported to the Barrow County Detention Center on charges of underage consumption of alcohol, possession of a drug related object and open container.

Another said waist of a life, I reaally hope this kid could find something wrong in what he was doing and maybe get his life back on a useful path, because the path he is on, he will so, if not already be, another citizen with his hand out, wanting goverment to take care of his useless life.
