Bethlehem officials vote to fund EDC just $1,500

“If we do anything I’d look at it as a good faith thing,” Ridgeway said before the vote was taken. “It might be worth it to do $1,000 to say we participated. When you hear them talk about the needs they have then whatever we give is really a drop in the bucket.”

Also at Monday night’s meeting, the Bethlehem council heard an update on intersection plans at the towns’ busiest intersection. Guy Herring of McFarland-Dyer and Associates told the council preliminary plans have been sent to the traffic signal engineer.

Dyer said once the signal plan is complete, it will be submitted to Department of Transportation officials in Lawrenceville and Atlanta.

The council also voted Monday to allow bids for the town’s garbage and recycling services.

“It’s in our best interest to see if anyone else wants to bid on it,” Ridgeway said.

RFP is the current provider.

McNab told council members that 33 craft vendors and 10 food vendors had signed up for this weekend’s Star Festival.
