A Bethlehem man was arrested for shoplifting after trying to steal beer from an Auburn grocery store.
Store employees witnessed James David McCormick, 18, of 2437 Berry Hall Road in Bethlehem, attempt to leave the Auburn Ingles with two 30-packs of Coors Light. A store employee stopped McCormick as he was exiting the store and asked for his proof of purchase.
McCormick admitted that he had not paid for the beer and was detained until authorities arrived.
McCormick, who was intoxicated at the time of his arrest, apologized for his actions saying he had been “acting stupid and would not do it again.”
He was transported to the Gwinnett County Detention Center on charges of shoplifting and public intoxication.

•Dante D’Jesus Flores-Martinez, 20, 327 Cedar Creek Road, Winder, driving while unlicensed.
