Bethlehem woman harassed over missing marijuana
A Bethlehem woman contacted authorities after a man beat on her garage door for 45 minutes.
The woman said the male arrived at her house around 9:30 p.m. on Sept. 17. The man began beating on her front door and then her garage door while yelling her son’s name. The woman said she did not answer the door because she was frightened and wearing her pajamas.
The woman’s 20-year-old son recognized the man as his former employer and said he was not going to answer the door. The son assured his mother that the man would go away eventually.
According to the mother, the man beat on the garage door with such force that he caused the garage door to go off its tracks. After 45 minutes of beating on the front door and garage door, the man left.
The woman said the man and his girlfriend had been at her house the previous week to visit her son. After the couple left, the mother discovered a bag of marijuana on the sofa. Her son said the marijuana was not his and must belong to either his former employer or the man’s girlfriend. The mother disposed of the marijuana by flushing it down the toilet.
The mother said the girlfriend has since called and texted several times demanding the return of her drugs or, alternatively, financial compensation for her loss. The mother believes the man may have come to her house in an attempt to retrieve his girlfriend’s weed. At the time of the report, the deputy had been unable to make contact with the man or the man’s girlfriend.
