Two arrested on charges of child exploitation

Two men are facing multiple charges after allegedly attempting to solicit sex from minors.

Last week, Barrow County Sheriff’s deputies arrested David Blackmon, 26, of 1443 Jefferson Drive in Atlanta, and Thomas Earl Kimbrough, 60, of 5550 Lakeshore Drive in Buford, on charges of sexual exploitation of children and enticing a child for indecent purposes.

The arrests were made as a result of an undercover operation in which an investigator posing as a 15-year-old juvenile chatted with both men online. Blackmon and Kimbrough are accused of asking the investigator, who they believed to be a juvenile, to meet for the purpose of having sex.

Blackmon was arrested Sept. 20 at an Atlanta Hwy. location when he arrived to meet the investigator. As a result of the investigation, Blackmon is also facing charges of computer pornography. He was released Sept. 25 on a $25,000 bond.

Kimbrough was taken into custody on Sept. 20 at Ft. Yargo State Park. He was released Sept. 23 on a $10,000 bond.
