New bar friend steals car, crashes through garage door
A Bethlehem man lost his car and more when a new friend turned out to be a thief.
The man said he met a black male named “Dave” at a club in Atlanta. Both men returned to the victim’s Bethlehem home to “hang out” and drink.
At approximately 2 a.m., the victim went to the restroom. When he returned, he found Dave in the garage sitting in the victim’s 2005 Chevrolet Uplander.
When he asked Dave what he was doing, Dave threw the vehicle in reverse and backed through the closed garage door ripping it off its hinges. Dave then drove away in the victim’s vehicle.
The victim’s phone and his wallet were in the vehicle at the time of the theft. The victim said he attempted to use his neighbor’s phone to call 911, but was unable to get anyone to the door and had no other way to contact authorities.
The victim believes his vehicle may be in the Atlanta area due to the fact that he picked Dave up at a bar on Peachtree Street.
In addition to stealing the car, Dave caused $1,500 worth of damage to the victim’s garage door and also took $50 which was in the victim’s wallet.

Another fine list of Darwin candidates. Keep up the good work, nutballs. Eventually you'll thin out the weakest links and allow some level-headed folks to repopulate in your place.
