Woman arrested after imprisoning husband

A deputy was called to a Bismarck Circle residence in response to a report of a verbal dispute. The husband called 911 and advised that his wife had locked him in a bedroom and would not let him leave.

When the deputy arrived, the couple’s teenage daughter led him to her parent’s bedroom.

The deputy heard a female crying on the other side of the door. When the woman opened the door, the deputy could see the husband standing on the opposite side of the room. The deputy also noticed a small hole in the sheetrock above the couple’s bed.

The wife, Lisa Marie Shaw, 31, of 1698 Bismarck Circle in Winder, said she had caught her husband in a lie and became upset. When she confronted him about the lie, the husband said he wanted a divorce and planned to leave the residence.

Shaw admitted getting angry and overturning a jewelry box in the bedroom. When asked why she did that, Shaw said she wanted to hit her husband but knew she would get in trouble if she did so. She also admitted throwing a small basket at the wall and causing the hole in the sheetrock. Though her husband wanted to leave, Shaw refused to let him by locking the bedroom door and blocking it with her body to prevent his exit. The husband called 911 for assistance when Shaw refused to move.

Due to her voluntary admissions, Shaw was placed under arrest for family violence criminal trespass and false imprisonment.
