Spurned dancer punches partner in the face

A woman said she was dancing with Quentin Jerome Evans, 24, of 230 Capital Avenue in Winder, when he began dancing too closely to her.

The woman became uncomfortable and started dancing in another direction in an attempt to move away from Evans. According to the woman, Evans suddenly punched her in the face breaking one of her teeth and causing her cheek to swell. The incident was witnessed by at least three other people.

The officer secured a warrant for aggravated battery against Evans.

A short time later, police were dispatched to a Wood Avenue apartment in reference to a possible shooting. Officers found blood on the ground near the door and on the grass. An officer followed a blood trail around the apartment and found that it ended next to a Crepe Myrtle tree.

When the officer asked the apartment tenant about the blood, the woman said nobody had been shot and everything was fine.

Officers received permission to check the apartment for any injured persons and found blood on a bedroom wall, the bedroom floor and all through the residence. A glass table in the living room had been overturned and there were broken liquor bottles on the floor.

One of the people at the scene said Evans was intoxicated and had knocked over the table and cut his arm on a liquor bottle.

Evans was apprehended later that day after an officer on patrol saw Evans enter a residence. Evans had a cut on his arm which had been stitched. He was arrested without incident.
