Homeless, drunk couple passes out at apartment complex
A deputy was called to an Atlanta Highway address in response to a report of two people passed out in front of an apartment complex.
When the deputy arrived, he found a white female lying in the parking lot. The woman’s shorts were nearby and she was undressed from the waist down. The deputy attempted to speak with the woman, but could not understand what she was saying due to her excessively slurred speech.
Her companion, a white male, was also lying nearby. The male had a gash on his forehead and was unresponsive.
The woman attempted to get up off the pavement in order to check on her companion. When she stood up, she lost her balance and fell, hitting her head and face on the pavement.
Paramedics assessed both parties and determined they needed medical attention. The couple was transported to Athens Regional Medical Center.
According to a witness, the couple had been leaning against a car before they passed out from intoxication. The witness said he called authorities once the couple was on the ground. The witness said the pair was homeless and had been living in a car the past few weeks.
The deputy obtained several warrants against the two individuals. The male was charged with public intoxication and the female with public intoxication and public indecency.
