Winder Police were called to Winder-Barrow High School last Friday after school officials received a threatening phone call.
According to Winder Police Department public information officer Det. Sgt. Rachel Love, the anonymous caller said “just to let you know, there’s a bomb in the school.”
Principal Al Darby initiated a soft lock down as law enforcement personnel conducted a sweep of the school and grounds. No suspicious items were located. Love said investigators are currently in the process of obtaining phone records in order to determine who placed the call.
“We have to take every threat seriously,” Love said.
