One injured when shots fired into crowd

Three men are in custody after a Friday night shooting which left one person injured.

Winder Police were called to Wood Avenue at approximately 8 p.m. in response to a drive by shooting.

A 22-year-old woman suffered a gunshot wound to her right shoulder when shots were fired from a moving vehicle into a crowd.

Witnesses provided a description of the suspect’s vehicle. A short time later, a Barrow County Sheriff’s deputy spotted the vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop.

The driver of the suspect vehicle tried unsuccessfully to elude the deputy before stopping the car and fleeing on foot.

The driver and two passengers were apprehended after a short foot chase on Haymon Drive.

Police arrested Nicholaus Williams, 21, Naquan Brandt, 22, and Jeromer Davis, 17.

Charges against the three men are still being determined.

The shooting victim, Kimberly Elliot, was treated and released from an area hospital.
