Local voters prefer Nathan Deal over Karen Handel, according to a recent poll on BarrowJournal.com.
When asked which candidate they intended to support in the August 10 Republican runoff, nearly 61 percent of voters chose Deal.
The winner of the runoff will face Democratic nominee Roy Barnes in the November general election.
Another recent BarrowJournal.com poll asked respondents if a candidate’s ability to manage his or her finances should be a factor in an election.
Over 80 percent said personal finances should “absolutely” be considered.
Less than nine percent of poll takers felt that a candidate’s financial situation was irrelevant. Ten percent expressed uncertainty regarding the issue.
COLEY VS. GINN
This week’s poll asks participants which candidate they intend to support in the State Senate 47 race. Voters will choose between Winder’s Shane Coley and Madison County’s Frank Ginn during the August 10 runoff.
