The Barrow County Superior Court recently sentenced the following people. Those charged and their sentences are listed below. Charges listed as nolle prosequi are those in which the prosecutor or plaintiff indicated they would not proceed with the case. In criminal cases, a disposition of nolle prosequi may be entered when evidence proves innocence or charges cannot otherwise be proved.
The following sentences were issued as part of negotiated plea agreements on July 15, 2010 with Superior Court Judge Joseph Booth presiding:
•Keyon Lavenz Neal, theft by receiving stolen firearm, reckless conduct, discharge of a gun near a public street and carrying a concealed weapon: five years probation. Aggravated battery, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during a crime, theft by receiving stolen property, VGCSA, possession of alprazolam and possession of less than one ounce of marijuana: seven years in prison, 23 years probation and a $4,500 fine. Possession of drugs not in original container: nolle prosequi.
•Harold Pilgrim, forgery: four years in prison.
•Tina Michelle Jordan, two counts VGCSA and DUI less safe merged with the charge of failure to maintain lane: first offender treatment on VGCSA charges, eight years probation, 40 hours of community service, undergo DUI/risk reduction treatment and pay a $3,000 fine.
•Nina Francis Currin, 28 counts of first degree forgery: 20 years probation, $21,638.56 in restitution and a $2,000 fine.
•Rachel Casi McDaniel, possession of alprazolam and possession of less than one ounce of marijuana: three years probation and a $1,500 fine.
•Gael Pierre Jerome, criminal attempt to purchase marijuana: five years probation, 100 hours of community service and a $1,000 fine.
•Barbara Elaine Miller, possession of methamphetamine: five years probation and a $750 fine. Crossing the guard line with drugs: nolle prosequi.
•Reginald Duwand Pope, two counts VGCSA: first offender treatment, 15 years probation, two years to serve suspended upon completion of six months of intensive probation and a $3,000 fine. Possession of a drug related object: nolle prosequi. Aggravated assault and family violence battery pled to lesser included offense of battery: 12 months probation and a $1,000 fine.
•Nathan Serafini Laviola, possession of methamphetamine: eight years probation and a $1,500 fine. Theft by receiving stolen property, possession of a drug related object, improper exhaust system and operating a vehicle with an expired tag: nolle prosequi.
•Vladimir Roche, criminal attempt to purchase marijuana: five years probation, 100 hours of community service and a $1,000 fine.
•Parnell Sainvil, criminal attempt to purchase marijuana: five years probation, 100 hours of community service and a $1,000 fine.
•Justin Drake Morgan, two counts of simple battery: 12 months probation, no violent contact with victim and a $1,000 fine.
•Wesley Eugene Martin, two counts of criminal trespass: 12 months probation and a $1,000 fine.
•Joe Barthodus Camp, battery: four months confinement, eight months probation and no violent contact with victim. Three counts of aggravated assault: nolle prosequi.
•Ricardo Mendieta, criminal trespass: 30 days confinement and 11 months probation.
•Mark Marty Moore, entering auto: 12 months probation and a $500 fine.
•Randolph Lee Parrish, DUI drugs and failure to maintain lane: two years probation less 24 hours confinement, 40 hours of community service and a $1,050 fine. VGCSA: nolle prosequi.
•John Taylor Ellis, family violence battery and criminal trespass: two years probation, 60 hours of community service, no violent contact with victim and a $500 fine.
•Cameron Lashun Peters, sale of marijuana: first offender treatment, ten years probation, two years to serve suspended upon completion of intensive probation and a $2,000 fine.
•Cordevro Chrischon Riley, criminal trespass: 12 months probation and a $500 fine. Possession of less than one ounce of marijuana and possession of a drug related object: nolle prosequi.
•Christopher Clint Looney, disorderly conduct: 12 months probation and a $500 fine. Aggravated stalking: first offender treatment, five years probation, no contact with victim and a $1,000 fine. Terroristic threats and violation of a family violence order: nolle prosequi.
•Junior Sainvil, criminal attempt to possess marijuana: five years probation, 100 hours of community service and a $1,000 fine.
•Stephanie Denise Lowery, two counts VGCSA: eight years probation and a $2,000 fine. Four counts of VGCSA and one count of drugs to be kept in original container: nolle prosequi.
•Brandy Nicole Powell, theft by taking: two years in prison, eight years probation, $3,600 in restitution and a $1,000 fine. Possession of methamphetamine: four years in prison, 11 years probation and a $1,000 fine. Obstruction and possession of a drug related object: nolle prosequi.
