Auburn to host Independence Day celebration July 2 and 3

The City of Auburn will host a two-day celebration in honor of Independence Day.

The festival begins July 2 at 3 p.m. with vendors and activities near City Hall, located at 1369 Fourth Avenue in Auburn.

Veterans are invited to stop by the City of Auburn’s tent for water and snacks throughout the day. At 5 p.m., all veterans are invited to the stage for a special salute.

At 8 p.m., the city will host a “Beach Party” featuring the Full House Band.

On Saturday, July 3, festivities begin at 10 a.m. Live music will be performed throughout the day. As part of the celebration, there will be games and activities for children including pony rides and much more.

The event will also feature a car show which will be judged by the public. Certificates will be given to each participant. Vehicles must be 1990 or older to qualify. Deadline for early registration is June 25, 2010. No “For Sale” signs permitted.

The festival will end at dusk with a fireworks show.
