Man robbed at gunpoint by acquaintance
A Winder man said he and a male acquaintance were talking when the male grabbed him and pulled a gun on him.
The victim said the male, who he knows as Jeremy, had called him earlier in the day. When Jeremy arrived at the victim’s home, he and the victim had a discussion about cutting grass. The victim said he and Jeremy were walking when suddenly Jeremy grabbed him from behind, pulled a gun and demanded money.
The victim said he gave Jeremy $20. Jeremy then left the scene in a white Toyota Camry with another black male.
The victim said he does not know Jeremy’s last name, but was able to provide the deputy with Jeremy’s home and cell phone numbers. The victim said Jeremy lives in Cambridge subdivision off Loganville Highway.
The victim advised that he is willing to press charges.
The case remains under investigation.

• damage to property on Highway 211. A woman’s Ford Expedition became stuck in a large hole after her driveway washed out. The woman said she did not see the hole before driving into it.

• fraud on Winslow Way. A woman checked her bank account online and discovered two fraudulent transactions. The two transactions totaled just over $1,020.
• criminal trespass on Lokeys Ridge Road. A man advised that someone attempted to burn his fence. A total of eight boards were burnt.
• theft by taking on Atlanta Highway. A 1997 Mercury Sable valued at $600 was reported stolen. The vehicle had been stored at a repair shop for approximately three months.
• dispute on Gann Court. A woman said her neighbor is illegally dumping lumber on county property.
• complaint on Bethel Bower Road. A man called the Sheriff’s Office after discovering that someone had dumped several bushes behind a church.
• dispute on Parker Road. A mother called for assistance after her ex-husband refused to allow her son to get personal belongings from the ex-husband’s residence. The son moved out of the residence several weeks ago, but the ex-husband has been uncooperative regarding arrangements for the son to pick up the remainder of his possessions.
• burglary on Finch Drive. A business owner reported $2,500 worth of auto parts had been stolen. The stolen items included three transmissions, 16 aluminum wheels and eight tires.
• criminal trespass on Summerfield Road. A homeowner suspects someone took a decorative rock and smashed it against her door causing $300 in damage.
• burglary on Tanners Lane. Jewelry, a laptop computer and a handgun were reported stolen.
• burglary on Collen Drive. A home was ransacked and several items damaged during a burglary. Deputies were able to obtain fingerprints for processing.
• criminal trespass on Ode Peppers Road. A woman said her sister had entered her property after being asked not to do so.
• theft by shoplifting on Atlanta Highway. Two females were arrested after stealing $148 in merchandise from Walmart.
• verbal dispute on Atlanta Highway. A man and woman began arguing in the parking lot of Walmart. The man got out of the vehicle and said he was walking home.
• request on Dee Kennedy road. A man wanted to know how he could get the charges dropped against his wife. The woman had been arrested earlier that day for committing an act of domestic violence against him. The man, who the deputy noted seemed intoxicated, said he wanted the charges dropped so that they could be together again.
• criminal trespass on Wentworth Court. A woman was upset to discover papers in her mailbox regarding keeping dogs on runners. The woman said she recently moved into the home and had her dog on a runner because she could not afford a fence. She said she did not know who had put the information in her mailbox.
• prowler on Honeysuckle Trail. A female saw two men wearing shorts and t-shirts in her backyard. The deputy searched the area, but found no sign of the prowlers.
• criminal trespass on Lakeview Drive. A woman said a previous neighbor of hers has been showing up at her new residence late at night and knocking on her door. The woman advised that she is afraid of the man and does not want him on her property.
• suspicious activity on Octavia Court. A woman received a cell phone call from a man claiming to be a representative with the phone company. The man asked the woman for the last four digits of her social security number, her address and then called a second time requesting her password. The woman contacted the phone company and learned that someone had attempted to obtain service in her name, but had been unable to provide the correct password.
• theft by taking on Hwy. 211. Metal roofing sheets and copper pieces valued at a total of $1,075 were reported stolen.
• damage to vehicle on Rockwell Church Road. A woman said she was driving on Rockwell Church Road when an object struck her front windshield. When she arrived home, she noticed that her windshield had developed a crack.
• theft by taking on Cedar Valley Trail. A man said he left $900 on his bedroom dresser. The man noticed the money missing after a friend of his left the house.
• criminal trespass on Hancock Bridge Road. Several homeowners reported that their mailboxes had been damaged or destroyed.
• damage to property on Carl Bethlehem Road. A man said a friend advised him that two black males had been looking for him in order to settle a grudge. The man later discovered that the windshield of his jeep had been broken and that his coi pond had been overturned.
• theft on Westbury Drive. A man said a safe contained $75,000 in cash was stolen out of his bedroom.
• first degree forgery on Rockwell Church Road. A woman said three individuals attempted to purchase items from her at a yard sale using a counterfeit $20 bill.
• complaint on Marcel Park. A man complained that a group of people were on his property and were refusing to leave. The deputy met with the group of people and determined that they were not on the man’s property, but were, in fact, on their own property.
• suspicious activity on Hwy. 211. A man thought people were running through his yard and that his dogs were barking at something in the woods. No suspicious persons were found in the area.
• burglary on Trimelston Road. A son reported that his father’s house was burglarized. The father was out of town at the time of the report and the son could not advise if anything was missing.
• criminal damage to property on Hwy. 211. Copper wiring valued at $2,000 was cut from several cranes at a business. The damage to the cranes exceeded $12,000.
• complaint on Smith Mill Road. A man accused a woman of stealing documents, but later called back and said he had been mistaken and had found the documents.
• entering auto on Autumn Avenue. A vehicle was damaged when someone attempted to gain entry by breaking the door lock.
• suspicious incident on Trey Lane. A woman thought she heard someone walking through her home. The woman said her dog was also acting strangely which led her to believe there might be an intruder. A deputy searched the home, but found no one inside and nothing appeared to be out of place.
• burglary on Wages Road. A woman said she returned from an out of town trip to discover that her purse had been stolen out of her home.
• theft by taking on Arrowhatchee Drive. A man said he loaned a cherry picker and an engine stand to an acquaintance, but the man has yet to return the equipment.
• burglary on Crowe Road. A woman left several items outside her home after being forced to vacate the premises due to the home being foreclosed. When she returned to retrieve her items, she discovered several things had been taken. Someone had also burglarized the home stealing two window air conditioning units and other items.
• burglary on Cardinal Lane. A man believes someone used a garage door opener programmed to the same code as his own to enter his residence. No items were reported missing.
• burglary on Crystal Meadow Drive. A stove was stolen out of a vacant home.
• criminal trespass on Wilkens Road. The soccer field at a church was damaged.
• accident on Atlanta Highway. A juvenile was transported to Athens Regional for treatment after a dirt bike accident.
• financial identity fraud on Nunnally Road. A woman discovered $618 missing from her checking account. The money had been used to make an electronic transaction at Walmart.com. The woman suspects her ex-husband is responsible for the theft.
• theft by shoplifting on Atlanta Highway. A woman was arrested after stealing numerous items of clothing from Walmart.
• forgery on Carl Bethlehem Road. A store employee said a regular customer cashed a check for $468 which was later determined to be fraudulent.
• damage to vehicle on Hwy. 316. A man said his Cadillac was damaged after a vehicle in front of him ran over an unidentified metal object on the roadway causing the object to fly up and strike his car.
• harassing phone calls on East Wright Street. A woman reported receiving numerous harassing phone calls from her sister.
• shoplifting on Argonne Avenue. A barefooted woman entered the Homeport store, put on a pair of $180 boots and walked back out to her car despite an employee’s attempt to stop her. The employee obtained a tag number and suspect description.
• theft by taking on Pleasant Hill Church Road. A man reported his 1994 BMW convertible had been stolen while he was inside his home taking a shower.
• suspicious incident on Monroe Highway. A woman reported receiving several calls in which she was advised that she had won a prize and needed to provide personal information. The woman refused to provide the information and notified authorities of the possible scam.
• burglary on Dee Kennedy Road. Approximately $50,000 worth of jewelry was reported stolen.
• entering auto on Georgia Club Drive. A wallet was stolen out of an unlocked vehicle.
• complaint on Scott Circle. A woman said two black males were speeding through the neighborhood on dirt bikes.
• financial transaction card fraud on Patrick Mill Road. A woman said her boyfriend made an unauthorized $100 transaction with her debit card.
• theft by taking on Carl Bethlehem Road. A motorcycle was reported stolen.
