Unemployment rate drops

The unemployment rate in Barrow County eased somewhat in April, down to 10.2 percent from 10.5 percent in March.

But the county continues to have one of the highest rates in Northeast Georgia.

In some months over the last year, Barrow’s unemployment has been above 11 percent. But as the recession appears to have to bottomed out in 2010, the rate has slowly inched downward.
