The Winder First United Methodist Church will host a free employment seminar on Friday, June 4 from 9 a.m. until noon.
The seminar will be held in the Church’s Fellowship Hall. Anyone seeking employment or a new career is invited to attend. Individuals with questions regarding continuing their education are also welcome.
Local business professionals, in addition to representatives from Lanier Tech, Gainesville College, the Georgia Department of Labor and several area staffing companies, will be on hand to provide information.
Topics to be discussed include resume writing, interview skills, interview attire and body language.
According to Skip Freeman, author of Headhunter Hiring Secrets: The Rules of the Hiring Game Have Changed Forever, companies are only hiring those who can help them make money or save money.
Freeman advises job seekers to understand what they can do, what they want to do and what they can do for the company. The seminar is designed to help job seekers answer those questions.
The seminar includes breakfast. Child care will be provided.
Winder FUMC is located at 280 North Broad Street across from Ingles in Winder. For more information, call 770- 867-4594.
