Burglary suspect tasered, falls on head
A burglar fell on his head, but managed to escape apprehension after being tasered while on top of a six foot high fence.
A Barrow County Sheriff’s deputy was called to assist Statham Police with a burglary in progress at the Pat's BP. Two suspects gained access to the business through the roof of the building. The suspects were spotted as they leapt from the roof and ran towards some nearby storage units.
A few minutes later, the suspects were located on top of one of the storage units. Both suspects then jumped off the storage unit and scaled a six foot high security fence in an attempt to elude authorities.
One of the suspects was not as fast as the other and was ordered to stop just as he reached the top of the fence. The suspect failed to comply and was tasered in the back by the deputy.
The deputy wrote, “The subject then screamed and his body weight pulled him over the top of the fence and the leads from the taser broke. The subject fell on his head and jumped up and took off running towards Wise Court.”
Attempts to locate the suspects by Auburn and Gwinnett K-9 units were unsuccessful.
