Sentences issued in Superior Court May 5-13
The Barrow County Superior Court recently sentenced the following people. Those charged and their sentences are listed below. Charges listed as nolle prosequi are those in which the prosecutor or plaintiff indicated they would not proceed with the case. In criminal cases, a disposition of nolle prosequi may be entered when evidence proves innocence or charges cannot otherwise be proved.
The following sentences were issued as part of negotiated plea agreements on May 5, 2010 with Superior Court Judge Currie Mingledorff presiding:
• Randall James Glenn II, family violence battery: five years probation, no contact with victim, serve two years suspended upon successful completion of 180 to 240 days at a state detention center and a $1,000 fine. Two counts of family violence battery, family violence simple battery and family violence simple assault: nolle prosequi.
• Jeffery Lamar Williamson, three counts of VGCSA: ten years confinement, ten years probation, complete evaluation and treatment for substance abuse and pay a $7,000 fine. Eight counts of VGCSA: nolle prosequi.
• Adam Heard, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of government housing, possession of a drug related objects and obstruction: serve two years suspended upon six months confinement, 14 years and six months probation and a $3,750 fine.
• Justin Michael Coleman, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute: six months county detention center, six months home confinement, six months intensive probation, 14 years and six months intensive probation, complete evaluation and treatment for substance abuse and a $1,500 fine. Sale of cocaine: nolle prosequi.
• Gary Ross, burglary: two years confinement, 13 years probation, no contact with victim and a $1,000 fine.
The following sentences were issued as part of negotiated plea agreements on May 12, 2010 with Superior Court Judge David Motes presiding:
• Chad Quinton Starling, terroristic threats and acts, false imprisonment, family violence simple battery, family violence battery, third degree cruelty to children and family violence simple assault: eight years probation less 60 days confinement, no contact with victim, complete anger management and alcohol treatment programs and pay a $1,500 fine.
• Lisa Marie Keever, sale of marijuana: first offender treatment, ten years probation, two years suspended upon completion of residential substance abuse treatment and a $1,500 fine.
• Ashley Camille Gibson, trafficking cocaine: 15 years probation, two years to serve suspended upon 100 days in jail, credit for time served, six months intensive probation, complete evaluation and treatment for substance abuse and pay a $2,000 fine.
• Robert Arnold, simple battery: 12 months probation less 40 days confinement, no contact with victim and a $750 fine. Possession of cocaine: seven years probation, one year to serve suspended upon eight to 12 months of substance abuse treatment and a $500 fine. Disorderly conduct and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute: nolle prosequi.
• Benjamin Ketton, trafficking in cocaine: seven years confinement, 13 years probation and a $10,000 fine.
• Jason Edward Parnell, possession of methamphetamine and alprazolam: five years probation less three months in confinement, complete evaluation and treatment for substance abuse and pay a $1,500 fine. Obstruction and possession of a drug related object: 12 months probation and a $1,000 fine. Possession of methamphetamine: nolle prosequi.
• Craig Willaster Osborne, trafficking in cocaine and sale of cocaine: ten years confinement, ten years probation and a $10,000 fine.
• David Justin Tucker, burglary and criminal damage to property: two years probation, no violent contact with victim and a $1,000 fine.
• Brian Keith Sloan, disorderly conduct: 12 months probation, no violent contact with victim and a $500 fine.
• Joshua David Hardman, aggravated assault: 12 months probation, first offender treatment, no contact with victim and a $750 fine.
• Carlos Dandrell Davis, possession of less than one ounce of marijuana: 12 months probation and a $750 fine. Loitering and prowling: nolle prosequi.
• Pamela Jane House, burglary pled to lesser included offense of criminal trespass, theft by taking and possession of dihydrocodeine pled to lesser included offense of pills not in original container: three years probation and a $2,500 fine. Possession of tools for the commission of a crime and possession of diazepam: nolle prosequi.
• Jamie Richard Hammond, burglary pled guilty to lesser included offense of criminal trespass: six months confinement, six months probation, no contact with victim and a $500 fine. Two counts of theft by taking motor vehicle: nolle prosequi.
• Ricky Clay Hatcher, terroristic threats pled guilty to lesser included offense of harassing phone calls: 200 days confinement, 165 days probation, no contact with victim and a $500 fine.
• Tracey Allen Weaver, DUI less safe, fleeing and attempting to elude, reckless driving, weaving over roadway, speeding, improper u-turn and failure to stop at stop sign: two years probation less 30 days confinement, 240 hours of community service and a $3,500 fine.
The following sentences were issued as part of negotiated plea agreements on May 13, 2010 with Superior Court Judge T. Penn McWhorter presiding:
• Brandy Payne a.k.a. Brandy Sheffield, theft by shoplifting merged with theft by taking: 12 months probation and a $750 fine. Drugs to be kept in original container: nolle prosequi.
• Arthur Wayne Hall, theft by taking and criminal trespass: two years probation less 25 days confinement, 220 hours of community service and a $1,000 fine.
• Christovao Jose Carreira, DUI: 12 months probation less 24 hours confinement, 40 hours of community service and a $750 fine. Failure to maintain lane and open container: nolle prosequi.
• Carrie Lynn Sauls, possession of less than one ounce of marijuana: 12 months probation, evaluation and treatment for alcohol and drugs and pay a $500 fine.
• Michael Miller, giving false name to law enforcement officer: 12 months probation and a $500 fine.
• Frederick Metz, battery: 12 months probation, no violent contact with victim and a $500 fine.
• Valentin Rodriguez, possession of less than one ounce of marijuana: 12 months probation and a $750 fine.
• Kenneth Raymond King, reckless conduct, reckless driving, discharging a firearm while under the influence of alcohol, discharging a firearm near a public highway and open container: four years probation less 48 hours confinement and a $3,450 fine.
• Jennifer Michelle Jordan, possession of less than one ounce of marijuana and obstruction: two years probation and an $800 fine. False identification document: nolle prosequi.
• Charity Latress Almond, theft by shoplifting: 12 months probation less 15 days confinement and a $750 fine.
• Mitchell Drew Morris, theft of services and obstruction: 12 months probation, evaluation and treatment for alcohol and drugs, 40 hours of community service and a $500 fine.
• Michael Allen Jones, family violence simple battery: 12 months probation, no violent contact with victim and a $500 fine. Family violence simple assault and theft by taking: nolle prosequi.
• Robert Woods, criminal trespass: 12 months probation, no contact with victim and a $500 fine.
• Ramiro Orosco Jaldin, speeding, driving without a license, operating a vehicle without a valid tag and theft by receiving stolen property: two years probation and a $2,000 fine. Aggressive driving and following too closely: nolle prosequi.
• Latwon Alton Eugene Dukes, battery, two counts of simple battery and affray: four years probation less 20 days confinement, no contact with victims, restitution and a $2,500 fine.
