LETTER: Donation by Saunders family appreciated

The current economic situation is tenuous for many, and we are uncertain about many things. This is a time when we are all finding ways to save money, and we are especially particular about where we spend it. In light of our uncertainty about the economy and what the future holds, the support poured out by individuals and businesses during and after the recent retirement celebration honoring Dr. Ron Saunders has been truly amazing.

Since arriving in Barrow County, Dr. and Mrs. Saunders have been generous with their time and talents in service to this community. They stand as an example to us all for how we are to use the resources and gifts we have each been given.

On behalf of my board of directors, I want to thank Dr. and Mrs. Saunders for honoring us as a recipient of the generous donations generated in their behalf. I also want to thank the Barrow County Chamber of Commerce and Barrow County Schools for their hard work creating and organizing this event. To all of you who came out to honor the Saunders or who made other contributions that made the celebration a fun and successful event, we also offer our sincere thanks.
