The Barrow County Superior Court recently sentenced the following people. Those charged and their sentences are listed below. Charges listed as nolle prosequi are those in which the prosecutor or plaintiff indicated they would not proceed with the case. In criminal cases, a disposition of nolle prosequi may be entered when evidence proves innocence or charges cannot otherwise be proved.
The following sentences were issued as part of negotiated plea agreements on April 28, 2010 with Superior Court Judge Joseph Booth presiding:
• Harley Dehaven Crow, burglary, theft by taking and criminal trespass: three years confinement, 12 years probation and a $3,000 fine. Two counts of terroristic threats: three years confinement and two years probation plus a $1,000 fine.
• William Thomas Womack, first degree cruelty to children, terroristic threats and acts, cruelty to children and family violence battery: five years confinement, seven years probation, no violent contact with victim and a $2,000 fine. Family violence aggravated assault and reckless conduct: nolle prosequi.
• Saul Rodriguez Aravju, voluntary manslaughter: 15 years confinement, five years probation and $4,773 in restitution.
• Matthew Williams Woods, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of drug related objects: five years probation and a $1,500 fine. Possession of a controlled substance: nolle prosequi.
The following sentences were issued as part of negotiated plea agreements on May 5, 2010 with Superior Court Judge Currie Mingeldorff presiding:
• James Rowland Ward, possession of hydrocodone: five years probation and a $1,000 fine. Drugs to be kept in original container: nolle prosequi.
• Tiffany Ray, sale of marijuana: first offender treatment: ten years probation, serve two years suspended upon successful completion of state detention center program and a $2,000 fine. Possession of marijuana and possession with intent to distribute: nolle prosequi.
• Lori Woodall, first degree forgery: first offender treatment, five years probation, $4,3556 in restitution and a $1,000 fine. Additional count of first degree forgery: nolle prosequi.
• Railynn Ivey, sale of methamphetamine: ten years probation and serve two years suspended upon compliance with DFACS reunification plan and protective order.
• Michelle Gonzales, possession of methamphetamine, possession of alprazolam, possession of marijuana and theft by shoplifting: first offender treatment, ten years probation less 25 days confinement and a $3,750 fine. Additional count of theft by shoplifting: nolle prosequi.
• Edward Peach, criminal trespass: 12 months probation, restitution of $776 and a $500 fine.
• Glen Allen Stiltner, obstruction of a law enforcement officer: 12 months probation less 60 days confinement and a $500 fine.
• Jason Alan Benefield, family violence simple assault: 12 months probation less 80 days confinement, no violent contact with victim and a $1,500 fine.
• John Bradley Limes, theft by taking, criminal trespass and possession of a drug related object: three years probation less 15 days confinement and a $2,250 fine.
• Marcus Streeter, eleven counts of willful violation of unemployment and compensation law: five years probation, $3,821 in restitution and a $2,000 fine. Theft by deception: nolle prosequi.
• Vincent Tyler Collins, affray: 12 months probation, no contact with victim and a $300 fine.
• Jason Scott Kirkland, disorderly conduct: 12 months probation, no contact with victim and a $750 fine.
• Troy Lakeith Jones, criminal trespass: 12 months probation, no violent contact with victim and a $300 fine.
