This Saturday, May 15, the Barrow County Historical Society will host a fundraising auction at the Barrow County Museum.
Numerous items from the estate of Jimmie Ruth Hunter will be up for sale along with many other antiques and collectibles.
Museum curator Beth Barton said over 100 lots will be offered. Items up for auction include furniture, doors, mantels, chests, chairs, lamps, tables and a variety of costume jewelry. An entire bedroom suite will be offered for sale along with other unique items including a piano, sewing machine and an antique wheelchair.
There will be no reserve amounts on any of the items auctioned and no buyer’s fee will be assessed.
The auction is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. A preview of the items to be offered at auction will be held the evening of May 14 and the morning of May 15.
BBQ, hot dogs, hamburgers and other refreshments will be available for purchase.
The auction will be held in the courthouse parking lot adjacent to the Barrow County Museum, located at 74 West Athens Street in Winder.
