Hitchiker winds up in ‘desert’
A Duluth woman said she was driven around for more than seven hours after hitching a ride from Gwinnett County.
The woman said she was walking on Satellite Boulevard in Gwinnett County when a black male stopped and offered to give her a ride home. The woman said she was approximately ten miles from her home, so she decided to accept the man’s offer.
The woman claimed the man drove her around for seven hours in no specific direction. The woman said she knew they were not going in the direction of her home. At some point during the trip, the man stopped for two hours on a road in what the woman described as a “desert.”
The man then reportedly drove the woman to Barrow County and said he would “[expletive] her up” and kill her if she notified authorities. The woman eventually jumped from the vehicle when the man slowed to make a turn. She provided the deputy with the tag number of the suspect’s blue Ford Ranger but said there were no witnesses to the event.
The deputy transported the woman back to Gwinnett County.
