Arrest made in vehicular homicide

A Statham woman has been arrested in connection with a June 2009 vehicular homicide which resulted in the death of a Winder man.

Amanda Fay Shepherd, 43, of 2016 Kirkland Circle in Statham, was charged with homicide by vehicle and failure to yield right of way.

Shepherd was traveling on Atlanta Highway near Bowman Mill Road on June 1, 2009 when her vehicle struck the side of a truck owned by R. B. Express of Bridgewater, Mass. The impact caused the truck to strike a motorcycle, fatally injuring the motorcycle operator, William Lee Edge, 55, of Winder.

Shepherd was booked into the Barrow County Detention Center on April 27.
