An Auburn woman called police after discovering that someone had released a cat from a trap in her yard.
The woman said she had been having difficulty with stray cats getting into her garden. After contacting Barrow County Animal Control regarding the problem, the woman was given a trap in which to catch the invading felines.
The woman informed the officer that she had caught a cat, but someone released it. The woman said she did not know who would have set the feline free and requested a report be made to document the incident.
Other recent incidents investigated by Auburn Police include:
• speeding on Mount Moriah Road. A juvenile was cited for traveling 60 mph in a 35 mph zone. The juvenile was released to his father.
• harassing phone calls on Timberidge Lane. A man reported receiving numerous calls from the mother of his child. When the man refused to answer the phone, the woman became increasingly belligerent. In the last message, the woman said she knew the man was home because she could see lights on inside the house. An extra patrol was requested for the residence.
• disorderly person on Glen Terrace Road. Police were called after two neighbors engaged in a shouting match. No charges were filed.
