Blood drive today at Athens Regional

Athens Regional Medical Center will host two American Red Cross blood drives on Thursday, April 29, from 7:15 a.m. to 5:15 p.m., and Thursday, May 6, from noon to 6 p.m.

The blood drives will take place on the third floor of the Medical Services Building, behind the main hospital on King Avenue.

To donate, a person must be 17 years of age or older and weigh at least 110 pounds. Volunteers should get a full night’s sleep, eat a well-balanced meal and drink extra fluids before donating. Donors also must bring a photo I.D.

To reduce wait time at the drive, appointments are encouraged. However, walk-ins are welcome.
