Barrow County Emergency Services and the Winder Fire Department were called to the area of Monroe Highway and Fire Tower Road just after 10:40 p.m. on April 7 in response to a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.
According to Det. Sgt. Rachel Love of the Winder Police Department, a 19-year-old male from Dacula was crossing the road when he was struck by a 2001 Saturn driven by a 44-year-old female.
The male was flown by helicopter to Grady Hospital and the driver of the Saturn was transported to Barrow Regional Medical Center with unspecified injuries.
The accident remains under investigation by the Winder Police Department.
