On the spur of the moment, we stopped by the chairman’s office, not expecting to see him without an appointment but to set up a future meeting. Upon checking with Mr. Yearwood, the secretary told us that he was in a meeting but that, if we could wait about 10 minutes, he could, indeed, see us that day.
When Mr. Yearwood learned the nature of our concern, he asked Bob Hohe, the Operations Development Manager and Commissioner Larry Wilburn to join us. These gentlemen listened to our concern and seemed as anxious to get to the bottom of it as my sister and I were. Mr. Yearwood, Mr. Hohe and Mr. Wilburn were compassionate, yet extremely professional.
As it turned out, mine and my sister’s concern was based on false information. Naturally, we were dismayed to have taken the time of these three gentlemen when they had other, more important issues to attend to. When we expressed our embarrassment, we were told that we have nothing to be embarrassed about, that they are there to serve the citizens of Barrow County.
Nevertheless, an awkward situation for my sister and me was made much less stressful by their kindness. Mr. Hohe even did a follow-up call to make sure all our questions had been addressed. Kay and I want to say “thank you” to these men for their understanding, patience and accessibility.
It is reassuring to know that the citizens of Barrow County are being served by people of such high integrity.
Sincerely,
Margaret Loggins
What you don't seem to understand is just because you can see them on the spur of the moment doesn't mean they are doing a good job.
I'm glad your "issue" was based on false information and they were able to help you, but that doesn't mean they are doing a good job and looking out for the best interest of the county as a whole.
