Charges filed against bus driver

A former Barrow County School system employee has been charged with solicitation of sodomy.

Gregory Lamar Brock, 30, of 154 Creekwood Road in Winder, was recently fired from his job as a bus driver after school officials learned of “inappropriate contact” between Brock and a student. Brock is accused of soliciting sex from the 16-year-old female.

Brock was taken into custody on April 5 and bonded out the following day.

The student’s stepfather contacted police after learning his stepdaughter and Brock had been texting each other. The stepfather said he sent a text to Brock asking why he was texting his stepdaughter. In responding to the text, Brock wrote that he did not recognize the number from which the stepfather’s text originated. The stepfather said he later discovered that Brock changed his number immediately after receiving the text.

When questioned by police and school officials, the student admitted she and Brock had been engaged in a phone relationship. The student said the two had also been in contact on Facebook.

According to the girl, Brock asked to have sex with her and also requested oral sex. The girl further advised that Brock sent her a picture of his penis.

Det. Sgt. Rachel Love of the Winder Police Department said the investigation is still ongoing and more charges are expected to be filed.

I know that there are only certain questions asked during the application and interview process but, how could this mans past history been missed. From the way it sounds some of the other drivers new about this. I don't understand why it wasn't brought to someones attention. I know several bus drivers personaly and I would very upset to find out if one of them did know about his history and did not bring this to someone's attention. Also, in my opinion no one should condone this type of behavior. From my understanding this man's previous wife was one of the kids that rode his bus. I don't understand why anyone would condone letting their child be in a relationship with their bus driver. I have a lot of respect for this stepfather for taking an intrest in his child. More parents should be doing this.

I know this man and his previous wife personally. Just to put the fact out there she was NEVER a student on his bus. Her bus driver was a female and no longer works there and before that driver got fired she didn't even ride the bus. It just makes me wonder if he was doing any of this while they were married. I feel sorry for his EX-wife and these girls that are going through this right now. For those of you that think they know anything about that relationship or why they divorced there is always three sides of the story. I'm willing to bet he would say anything for somebody to feel sorry for him. I personally DON'T. Everybody needs to leave his Ex out of this cause she has nothing to do with it. I am praying for these girls and their families.

If she was so good she wouldnt have left him for someone younger than her and keep the baby from him. She drove him crazy thats why he did what he did.

He is a 30 year old man that knew better. Dont blame his ex-wife or any one else. What he did was wrong and everyone knows that and why people still standing behind him is crazy. I hope everyone that is standing behind him has no daughters that this could happen to.Im praying for the familes involved.

wow i cant belive that he did that i use to ride his bus and i always thought he was soo nice i guess i was wrong well thanx for lettin me know since the school didnt wwwwwwwwoooooooooooooowwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

didnt he get fired from walmart for sexual harrasment? I blame the "good ole boy" mentality that is rampid at the bus shop. people behind locked closed doors with their boss, people not qualified to have the jobs they have, good money being wasted on noneducated position holders. One good thing about the new superintendant, she aint from winder!!! Clean house baby!!! clean the stench of mistrust, favortism, laszyness ans cheaters out of barrow county bus shop!! let people know that barrow county has no tollerance for sexual harrasment and all the other shananagins going on. Affairs, lying, sneaking around. people are sittin at the bus shop who should be running their route instead tax payers are payin a sub or retainer! Can u say WAIST OF MONEY!!!!!!o new superindand, PLEASE CLEAN HOUSE!!!!!!
