Bus driver accused of soliciting teen for sex

A former Barrow County School system bus driver who was terminated last week for “inappropriate contact” with a student has been accused of soliciting sex from a 16-year-old student.

The student’s stepfather contacted police after learning his stepdaughter and the bus driver had been texting each other. The stepfather said he sent a text to the bus driver asking why the man was texting his stepdaughter. In responding to the text, the bus driver wrote that he did not recognize the number from which the stepfather’s text originated. The stepfather said he later discovered that the bus driver changed his number immediately after receiving the text.

When questioned by police and school officials, the student admitted she and the bus driver had been engaged in a phone relationship. The student said the two had also been in contact on Facebook.

According to the girl, the bus driver asked to have sex with her and also requested oral sex. The girl further advised that the bus driver sent her a picture of his penis.

Det. Sgt. Rachel Love of the Winder Police Department said the investigation is still ongoing and no charges have yet been filed against the driver.

OMG.... ARE YOU SERIOUS, THIS MAN NEEDS TO BE ARRESTED. IF THIS WAS TO HAPPEN TO MY DAUGHTER THIS MAN WOULD HAVE ALREADY BEEN ARRESTED I WOULD NOT LET UP UNTIL HE GETS WHAT HE DESERVES. He already has, he married a student off his bus a few years ago. Her mom lied for him and said they were all just friends but as soon as she turned 18 they got married. they are soon to be DIVORCED or it just was final so i guess he is looking for the next wife. I to don't know why he has not been arrested. WHAT ARE YALL WAITING ON?

Who is to say he looking for his next wife? Knowing that they are in are getting a divorce, do we know why they are divorcing the wife left the marriage not him. Saying she was young and underage and the mother knew about it we need to also say that the mother is the one that pushed for a divorce. Putting this all a side we all have kids and if you dont have controll of your kids then you dont have imput on who they are. In my house we tell are kids if they want a cell phone then they need to get a job a pay for it these kids now get what they want and do what they want because they have no respect for mothers and fathers. We can not think bad about people just because you dont like somebody or just to get revenge.

um. Excuse me.I don't know where you are getting your information from Sue but I never told my daughter to leave him. Yes you knew how I felt about things because I confided in you..There are only 3 people that i talked to about my family.So please remember what goes around comes around, and you can lose your job for this...My daughter might of lied but she was in love...Now knows better. He left the marriage when she told him to get the f....out. Or did u forget they were living with me..Do you remember why they were living with me? do I need to tell all these people talking on here why they were living with me? He has made his bed. He is lying in his bed. Not my daughter or me. Keep us out of this mess. My Daughter is very sorry that the young girls has to go through this and yes looking back he did the same to her. if half of Barrow CO new what was going on at the bus yard they would shut that place down! you have the new director sleeping w/ a bus driver and got a new promotion go figure? and taking them on trips on the states money also you have the shopforeman who is a deacon at his church sleeping w/ a bus driver .its no secret everone knows but just looks the other way .you also have the foreman making racial comments and judging others half of those buses should not even be on the road .not to mention they just spent over a Million$$ on a new shop not even being used go figure and some bus drivers making $12,00 to $14,000 while the directors girls are making over $42,000 and hardly ever drive a bus that place is so crooked and you wonder were your tax $$ go for them to take trips look at the southeastern conference a picture says a thousand words!!!!!!!!! you will see your wonderfull director w/ a bus driver who had no busines being there except for a good time at your exspense!

You have got to be kidding me. This is happening in several counties and now here. This guy needs to be thrown under the jail or put in front of a firing squad. For a bus driver that is supposed to be protecting our kids instead he is soliciting them for sex. This is the bus driver from the news the other day and it looks like his track record is pretty bad. Their are a lot of stuff about this guy coming out including being fired from walmart for sexual harassment. Maybe the county needs to start watching there drivers a little better for this garbage since it has been reported on numerous occasions to them. Very Pissed Off in Winder

Go figure, look at the ones who are involved in the hiring process. Look at their track records and you will understand why the quality of some are horrific. Fact is things are happening that are unethical and hostile, it's time to clean up before it goes any further. For the sake of the community let's hope this happens.

The previous Director of Barrow Co. Transportation new about innapropriate behavior from this specific driver and did NOTHING about it! The present Director of Barrow Co Schools Transportation kept people in administrative positions and promoted driver's to administrative positions that NEW of this driver's inapropriate behavior! This is NOT a secret among the employees of this school system department nor certain members of the school board! Being caught and exposed may be what keeps this poor sick individual alive! He now has the opportunity to repent and change his ways instead of someone taking matters into their own hands! He had negative issues from his prior employer, Walmart but, the adult women did not press charges therefore, the process of creating a criminal record did not happen! Don't let the Barrow County School System play ignorant in this....The powers that be CHOSE not to address this issue just like they don't so many others! Please investigate!!!!

Did you notice that the article said that the Winder Police Department is investigating? Nowhere in the article did it mention BCSO. So, to answer your question, BCSO is not doing anything because it's not their case!!

The BCSO is doing nothing at this point because the bus shop is not in their jurisdiction. If the teenager or the accused live outside of the city limits they will step in and assist WPD. All it takes is a little common sense to understand all of this.

Why blame law enforcement? Hopefully they are throughly investigating and doing their job! I sure don't want them to not be thorough and then this be a mistrial!!! IF Barrow County Schools Administrators and Barrow County School Board Members had done their jobs and investigated accusations and reports previously made privy to them......This would NOT be an issue with this individual NOW! Any employee that goes to Barrow County Schools Human Rescources Department or to the Superintendents or elected School Board Members with 'negative' circumstances or events in reference to the Transportation Department are looked at and assumed to be disgruntled or disloyal employees! Employees are then bullied and knit-picked/harrassed to comly,shut up or quit! Barrow County Schools should be held responsible and liable!!!

The statements about the pictures are fact and not hear say. Take the assistant director or spouse to conventions instead of a bus driver?
I would be a disgruntled employee if I was treated like some of the employees are treated by the director and his secretary(field trip coordinator/bus driver whatever she is today)are. The reason all these things are being said this way instead of the right way is because of threats and people are afraid of losing their jobs. We all have skeletons treat people with respect and don't give them reasons to bring them up.

Just a short note to the prior authors of the "we all have skeletons" references. Please know that we do not ALL have skeletons that involve minors!!!! As a person that has children (if we teenagers are still considered children) and works with children, I would not want anyone to work with my children, nor would I stand by and work among people that I 'believed' had those kinds of skeletons in their closets.

This has to be the white trashiest blog I have ever read.

The idea that anyone would attempt to defend actions this reprehensable defies all explination. In addition, it has turned into a mud slinging forum between what appears to be jilted lovers or their families.

If this driver has a history of this type of behavior and lifestyle, then why was he employeed by the school system to begin with? I have had restaurant serving jobs that were more thorough at checking references and my background.

I feel for all of the bus drivers everywhere who do they're job. Do it very well and now have to be subjected to what is about to come. These comments are surely being monitered. Names have been mentioned, not just the person in question, events have been re lated. There is certain retailation from they're superiors comming. How sad. Remember that one person does not represent the majority or their bosses. The acts of one person do not translate to the whole team. It is dispicable what has happened and a shame.

Yes he was arrested but he has already made bail so he wasn't in there long. I pray for the girls and the families that have to go through this. And for everybody that wants to keep bringing up his second wife, I'm sure he did the same thing to her so I feel sorry for her too. For all the people that says that you know him and he wouldn't do that you need to open your eyes. If he did it once for his second wife then YES he would do it again and for that I think he is very stupid to try it again. I will keep praying for these girls and families.

You all say that he has people backing him cause you know him and know that he wouldn't do this but in reality you know he did this. Deep down you know he is guilty of this. He did that same thing to these girls that he did to get his second wife. So do you really know this man? I think it's sad that he has to lower himself to go after all these young girls. Why not go after somebody his own age? He could have really messed these girls lives up and they maybe afraid to date again or whatever. He needs to go after somebody his own age and leave all these young girls alone. My thoughts are with these girls and the families.
