Statham Police investigating thefts

Police are also investigating the theft of a purse from an Atlanta Highway location. The theft occurred on March 21.

Other incidents investigated by Statham Police during the past week include a report of stalking and an alleged violation of a protective order.

Statham Police also made two arrests during the past week.

Andrew Amelio Zarate, 30, of 538 Greenfield Drive in Statham, was charged with simple battery and obstruction after police were called to the residence in response to a domestic dispute.

Racine Mack Underwood, 57, of 583 Eighth Street in Statham, was charged with DUI, open container and failure to maintain lane after a traffic stop on March 22.
One traffic accident was reported in Statham last week. A two car accident occurred on Atlanta Highway near Hayes Lake Road on March 21. No injuries were reported.

For the week, Statham officers issued eight traffic citations and eight warnings.
