Barrow County Schools’ will hold its annual fine arts festival the week of April 12- 15.
The festival will showcase their students’ hard work through a variety of fine arts media.
The weeklong event will begin with a performance by the Barrow County Elementary Honor Chorus at the Professional Development Center, 179 West Athens Street in Winder.
The art exhibit will be held at the Winder Cultural Arts Center, 105 East Athens St. in Winder. The exhibits and other student performances will be hosted by the City of Winder and its Cultural Arts Director, Mr. Don Wildsmith.
Art exhibits will be set up on both floors of the Winder Cultural Arts Center, both in the gallery and corridor space downstairs, as well as in hallways and auxiliary rooms surrounding the Colleen O. Williams Theater upstairs.
Last year, the Festival attracted over 3,000 visitors to the Winder Cultural Arts Center along with hundreds of Barrow County School System student musicians, actors and artists. The Williams Theater will be the venue for band, chorus, drama and other performances held from 4:30-8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 13 through Thursday, April 15.
The Fine Arts Department of the Barrow County School System is lead by Fine Arts Coordinator Kerry Bryant. The school system employs 45 full-time, fully-certified art, band, chorus, drama and elementary general music teachers, each with their own dedicated classrooms at the elementary, middle and high school levels.
