Statham was awarded $25,000 to go toward helping to improve the city’s water quality.
The grant, a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), will help provide solar-powered circulators for the water reservoir.
A solar-powered circulator is an environmental approach used to improve water quality. They may be used in wastewater ponds, lakes, potable water reservoirs or other water storage facilities.
This will prove important to the city since water quality problems and energy demands tend to be linked and also continue to escalate throughout the region.
