Barrow foreclosures climb

For 2010 through April, 873 foreclosure actions have been taken in Barrow County. The county recorded 2,172 foreclosures in 2009.

According to published sources, Metro Atlanta is also setting new records in the number of foreclosures with over 12,500 in March. Nationally, some project it will take three years or longer to run through this foreclosure cycle as the economy stays week and job losses push more people into losing their homes. Current foreclosures are said to be on more traditional loans and not subprime loans.
