The City of Auburn will be collecting batteries, motor oil, scrap metal, electronics and other junk during the Great American cleanup.
Containers will be set up next to City Hall to collect discarded materials.
The city will also collect tires for a disposal fee of $2 to $5 per tire depending on size.
The event will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on April 23 and 24 at 1369 Fourth Avenue in Auburn.
Items that cannot be accepted include paint, paint thinner, antifreeze or cooking oil.

Every road is strewn with trash, empty those jail cells Sheriff and put those offenders on the hwys and pick up. They could do their whole sentence on the roads everyday and I guarantee you won't see them misbehave any longer. You will eventually have less prisioners in jail and if that doesn't work then we will have clean roads.What an excellent idea.City commissioners take heed.
