Man hit with rake in dispute over girl
An Auburn man contacted the Sheriff’s Office after a dispute with another man over a girl turned physical.
The victim claimed a romantic rival beat him with a rake after he went to the man’s Greentree Drive residence.
The victim said he went to the man’s house because he heard that the man “wanted to jump on him.” The rake-wielding man reportedly was under the impression that the victim intended to poison his dog.
The victim denied threatening the dog and said he wanted to make sure the other man knew that.
When the victim arrived at the man’s house, he “hollered” for the man to come outside to talk. The man walked outside and reportedly said, “There is the [expletive] I have been looking for.”
The victim attempted unsuccessfully to convince the man he meant no harm. According to the victim, the man then struck him once in the back and twice in the leg with a rake.
Deputies were unable to locate the rake-wielding man for questioning.
