The Statham Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a person of interest in a Feb. 9 burglary. Police are looking for a black male, approximately 5’8” to 5’11” tall, weighing 150-190 lbs. The man has a mustache and short dread-locks.
The man is wanted for questioning in connection with the burglary of a Broad Street residence. Electronic items including a computer were reported missing in the incident.
Anyone with information concerning the whereabouts of this individual should call the Statham Police Department or 911.
Other recent incidents investigated by Statham Police include:
• domestic dispute on Feb. 8. The incident remains under investigation.
• domestic dispute on Feb. 12. The investigation is ongoing.
• property damage on Feb. 10. A vehicle at a Greenfield Drive location was damaged after wind caused a neighbor’s trampoline to strike the vehicle.
• harassing phone calls on Feb. 8. The incident was reported at an Atlanta Highway business.
Statham Police made one arrest last week. Marselu Suarez, 41, of 952 Jefferson Road in Athens, was charged with driving while unlicensed after a Feb. 10 incident on Atlanta Highway.
Police also responded to one traffic accident last week. The Feb. 12 snowfall caused a driver to lose control of his vehicle on Hammond Road and strike a mailbox and flower bed. There were no injuries.
For the week, Statham officers issued four citations and two warnings.
