Chamber of Commerce holds annual meeting

Barrow Regional Medical Center and Maynard & Bartlett Realty were presenting sponsors. Among the awards given, was Business of the Year, which Barrow Regional Medical Center received to a standing ovation from the full house of chamber members and supporters who gathered for this year’s event.

In his welcome, Barrow County chamber president Tommy Jennings recalled how the economy went “from boom to bust” in 2008 and 2009. He saluted the local business community for surviving.

“We’re still standing,” he said, adding that chamber membership actually grew during 2009.

Incoming chamber chairman Danny Rampey said his goals for 2010 included instilling a confident, optimistic attitude with a focus on excellence, leadership, education and advocacy.
