After two burglaries the previous week, Statham Police were called to investigate an additional three burglaries during the past week.
On Jan. 31, a burglary was reported at a residence on McCarty Road. A witness reported seeing a U-Haul type truck parked at an empty residence. By the time officers arrived, the vehicle was gone. Investigators have yet to determine if anything was taken from the home.
On Feb. 5, police were once again called to McCarty Road. Upon arrival, officers found a U-Haul vehicle at the scene. Three subjects were questioned. The driver of the vehicle, Harry Rainer, 23, of 531 Wall Street in Crawford, was charged with driving while license expired. Other charges are pending.
On Feb. 2, an attempted burglary was reported on Pendergrass Drive. The burglar attempted entry through the back door of the residence but left the scene when an alarm activated.
Other incidents investigated by Statham Police this past week include theft of a 2010 tag registration sticker on Broad Street and terroristic threats on McCarty Road. Both incidents occurred on Feb. 1.
Two individuals were arrested during the past week. Felix Jimenez, 24, of Country Corners in Athens, was charged with driving without a license after being stopped for a traffic violation on Feb. 4.
Kelly Lynn Jackson, 38, of 186 Giles Road in Winder, was charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct and loitering or prowling after a disturbance on Oak Spring Street on Feb. 2.
One traffic accident was reported last week. A two car accident was reported on Atlanta Hwy. near Waffle House on Feb. 2 at approximately 3:15 p.m. There were no injuries.
For the week, Statham officers issued twelve citations and three warnings.
