Barrow County Sheriff’s investigators have made an arrest in connection with a Feb. 5 homicide at a Clacktown Road residence.
Deputies arrested Justin Baber, 18, of 1058 Clacktown Road in Winder, late Friday on charges of felony murder, malice murder, aggravated assault, tampering with evidence and possession of a knife during the commission of a crime.
Deputies were called to 1058 Clacktown Road on the morning of Feb. 5 in reference to an unresponsive person. Upon arrival, deputies located a deceased white male with multiple stab wounds.
Justin Baber

Sure you can.
Here goes. Look at the dude. You can tell his brain is fried. Look what the dude did. In a high and drunken stupor he stabbed someone who is by all accounts who knew him was also in a high and drunken stupor. This wasn't at a 'party' where some frivolity can be excused. This is an everyday occurrence at this residence. There is also a 'sister' residence across the road down a little dirt road driveway that has people coming in day and night without cease. Your 'friends' don't drop by for 30 seconds and leave. It is obvious what is going on there. The Sheriff says they're watching the places. Right. All they'd have to do is set up a roadblock at the stop sign at the intersection of Hog Mtn Rd and Clacktown Rd and another, at the same time, at the intersection around the turn and they would catch about 50 druggies in one fell swoop.
Apples and Trees. UNBELIEVABLE
Accountable, Responsible Adults who CONTRIBUTE to society don't allow themselves to become embroiled in situations where they have to "Defend" their actions/activities leading up to a violent act. If I had friends that visited me at all hours and were constantly in and out as described, I would look for a new network of friends. These types of "friends" do everything except promote personal success.
Just my 2 cents.
It wasn't his parents fault that he decided to take anothers life, it was his own choice and now that choice has a list of ramifications. This isn't bashing, this is how society works. If Justin wasn't aware of this before, I am sure it has been more than made appearent now, post haste.
It is also important to point out that it is extremely unusual that events such as this develop over night. Most of the time, there is a trend to follow. There is such a thing as wrong place wrong time, but if you make the wrong place a personal habit then wrong time is bound to happen sooner or later.
I am a staunch supporter of Law Enforcement, however, it is my oppinion that these types of events can be avoided if the availability of the wrong places is cut off. If Deputies have been called to a certain location on several seperate occasions then I think that it would be best to place such hot spots on a watch list. make it a routine if you will. These are going to be the places that are overlapped on patrol.
I'm not sure of the logistics this type of idea would require, but, Barrow County is the second smallest county in land area in the state. Just a thought.

Barrow County is larger than Catoosa, Quitman, Peach, Glascock, Clayton, Rockdale and Clarke counties.
As for the sad situation discussed above; it’s obvious that the supporters of the murderer are going to have a tough time for the rest of their lives. It can be inferred from their written word that their education levels have fallen short and are sorely lacking. Hopefully they are young enough to turn use this experience to turn their lives around. They should start by getting an education, and if they have substance abuse problems, help with that as well.
Ya, sounds like a self defense situation to me. Im sure it's possible to stab someone to death while your holding a child too, not that it's even close to the right thing to do in the first place.
"And if a man cause a blemish in his neighbour; as he hath done, so shall it be done to him.
Breach for breach, eye for eye, tooth for tooth: as he hath caused a blemish in a man, so shall it be done to him again. And he that killeth a beast, he shall restore it: and he that killeth a man, he shall be put to death."
We are all judged by our actions, words, ethics, etc., even to academics and work. It appears that many never learn this.
Opinions and comments of others should be your least concern.
I have asked myself how I would react if it were my family, first I would be in constant prayer. I think keeping my mouth shut and letting the courts handle it, would be best.
#12's posting "this could have happened anywhere to anyone -a bar-anywhere- and a drunk man comes at you with your infant in your arms". I don't think most parents take their infants and children to bars, at least I hope not!
He may have been defending himself, but why then all the shenanigans after the fact? This coupled with the trends which were displayed prior and the attempt to conceal and defer responsibility make it very difficult to believe a self defense story. This isn't smack, this is how society works, and anyone who is uncomfortable with that should likewise take steps in advance to avoid being subjected to the scrutiny of others. Justin wasn't very concerned about this scrutiny, otherwise he would have A) called 911 B) not fled the scene
C)not attempted to conceal evedidence. We have the right to defend ourselves in a violent situation, but the best defense is to not continually put ourselves in situations that may become serious or violent, asking for trouble, if you will.
The charges stemmed from an incident in which Wilson reportedly held a woman against her will in his Madison County home. Authorities investigating the matter found the woman in a back bedroom of Wilson’s home “in a very emotional state.” The woman said Wilson threatened to kill her and had made threats against her family. Authorities discovered marijuana, rifles, handguns and ammunition inside the residence and five marijuana plants growing outside the home.
